Max Verstappen has taken pole position for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix tomorrow, followed by George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes. 

Sergio Perez had a troublesome weekend with a lack of confidence in his Red Bull RB19 during Free Practice 3, suffering from multiple lockouts. Then during Q3 of qualifying, he very quickly beached the car and found himself starting in twentieth.

Along with Perez, Oscar Piastri, Zhou Guanyu, Logan Sargeant, and Valtteri Bottas were out of qualifying in Q3. 

Esteban Ocon, Yuki Tsunoda, Lando Norris, Kevin Magnussen, and Nyck de Vries all found themselves out of the session in Q2. 

Alex Albon showed a fantastic performance getting into Q3 in the Williams for the first time this season.
