Ralph Schumacher has come under fire from F1 fans after a posting "terrible and disrespectful" caption to his Instagram account about Guenther Steiner. This comes only days after the Haas chief defended himself over comments he made about F1 reserve driver Mick Schumacher.

Formula One racing is not just about the drivers or teams, it is also about the personalities involved in the sport as many fans have found on Drive to Survive. Unfortunately, one such personality, former F1 driver Ralph Schumacher, has come under fire from fans after making derogatory comments about Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner.

Ralph Schumacher is a former driver who has competed in the sport from 1997 to 2007. He is the younger brother of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, uncle to Mick Schumacher, and has won six Grand Prix races throughout his career. After retiring from racing, Schumacher has become a pundit and commentator in the sport.

He mocked Guenther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team, via an Instagram post promoting his new skincare products, posting a photo of Steiner alongside a photo of hyaluronic moisturiser.

"With wrinkles and dry skin, I can only recommend Gunther my new cosmetic," Schumacher wrote in the caption. "At least you can still do something.

"Soon on the market." [sic]

Aside from spelling the American team chief's name wrong, fans were incredibly unhappy with the disrespect shown to the Drive to Survive fan-favourite.

"Sorry, terrible and disrespectful. Ralf doesn't need that at all," says one fan as another adds: "That's body shaming."

A third noted: "His comments on Steiner and Haas always have been atrocious, nothing to do with him being an impartial reporter, he‘s too involved into Mick's career. These comments and posts aren‘t funny, they‘re disrespectful and personal, he should do better." [sic]

A number of other fans of the sport have noted that with comments like this, Mick won't be returning to the team:

"Safe to say Mick Schumacher won't be returning to Haas if he has the chance," one said, with another saying: "Something tells me behind the scenes Ralf cost Mick the seat."

Steiner has been with the team since its inception in 2014 and has overseen their rise from newcomers to the sport to a mid-field team. Haas started racing in F1 in 2016, and is slowly working on improving its performance on track. Steiner is known for his outspoken personality and has become a fan favourite due to his candid interviews and interactions with the media.

The Instagram post has since been taken down.
