Former F1 champion Alain Prost has revealed the issues that Red Bull will be facing shortly, as tensions in the team rise.

The Austrian team has had a dominant start to the 2023 season winning all three races so far and it is looking as though this dominance will be continuing into the next stages of the season. However, it is anticipated that the team will see the gap behind them closing as the season progresses as their wind tunnel time is significantly lower than the other teams due to the cost cap saga.

Prost has also identified another issue that the team are set to face. They have run with one main driver for a long time with Sergio Perez there to sometimes make compromises in order to aid Max Verstappen. However, the Mexican driver is currently second in the championship and has already had a race win and pole position.

The former driver has predicted that Perez will now be less willing to compromise his races to help Verstappen and instead will want to be able to fight it out for the championship as well.

Prost explained in his column for L'Equipe:

"Nevertheless, it [Red Bull] is also facing the beginning of a crisis. The single-driver system, Max Verstappen, which worked so well, is showing the first signs of failure.

"Sergio Perez, now installed in the team, discovered he could win and no longer seems intent on always compromising."
