McLaren fans have now got the opportunity to tour the team's HQ. Google Maps have shared the hilarious behind-the-scenes of how they made it happen.

Taking to social media, Google who are one of McLaren's sponsors, showed rookie driver Oscar Piastri with the "trekker' strapped to him as he walked around the HQ. Fans have been going crazy for it as they joke that this is what the Australian driver has to go through as the new driver on the team.

Google Maps wrote:

"the driver - the course

"we asked @oscarpiastri if he’d drive a Street View car, but he wanted to try our trekker instead.

"take a lap around @mclarenf1 HQ on Street View and see what he captured: https://goo.gle/mclarenstreetview"

One fan commented referring to the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix where Piastri unfortunately had to retire from the race fairly early on. They wrote:

"He thought the car was not good to drive.. so he started driving Street View in HQ."

Another Twitter user took the opportunity to take a jab at the British team, writing:

"Faster and more reliable than the MCL60"

Someone else poked fun at the newest addition to the McLaren team, responding:

"Things they tell you to do when you are the new kid"

Piastri will be hoping for a much better performance at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix on 17-19 March, as will Lando Norris who also had a difficult Bahrain GP after suffering from a pneumatic leak which caused him to have to pit six times.
