After the morning performance of Round 6 of the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, only hours later the competitors had to be amped up and ready to go for Round 7.

That didn't slow the barrel racers down one bit.

Times were wicked fast and all 15 barrel racers ran sub-14 second runs. Sue Smith and Sissy Winn tragically each knocked a barrel down that added five seconds to their time.

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi was back on Benny tonight after giving him Round 6 off. The team made a gorgeous 13.47-second run, winning the go-round and adding $30,706 to Tonozzi's earnings. This win brought her season earnings to $403,389. She continues to set the record and raise the bar even higher.

Right behind them in the second position with a 13.60-second run was Dublin, Texas cowgirl, Kassie Mowry, and stand-out futurity gelding, Force The Goodbye. Mowry made the switch to him from her massive gray, Will, a couple of rounds ago and they are getting in the groove and performing phenomenally. This team won $24,268 in Round 6.

Wayne, Okla.'s Paige Jones ran a 13.62 second time which gained her the third position win in the go-round and $18,325.

Emily Beisel also made the switch from her trusty gray to a bay, specifically the bay mare, Ivory On Fire, also known as "Liza". Beisel and Liza smoked a run in the morning performance of Round 6, winning the go-round and $30,706. They turned around and came back for Round 7 to win fourth and another $12,877.

Summer Kosel ran a 13.69-second run with Lisa Lockhart coming in right behind her with a 13.70-second run. Both athletes were on geldings sired by Aint Seen Nothin Yet.
