Jacob Benham didn’t win a round in Saddle Bronc riding at the Ram Prairie Circuit Finals, but he ended up taking the title on average during action at Duncan, Okla.

Benhan pulled off the win on the back of a third-place, 77.5-point ride in the first round, and that was enough to help him finish with a 224-point average on three head. He was helped by the fact that he was the only rider to place in average with three head.

Benham, out of Dodge City, Kan., just joined PRCA in 2023. He did manage three wins in Saddle Bronc riding last season at the Atoka Pro Rodeo in Atoka, Okla.; the Mesquite Championship Rodeo in Mesquite, Texas; and the Buffalo Bill Rodeo in North Platte, Neb.

Ean Price, 2022 Circuit Finals saddle bronc champion, took second place with 163.5 points on two head. The newlywed cowboy claimed victory in the first round with an 85-point ride on Big Rafter Rodeo's "Cheap Sunglasses," and then finished fourth in the second round with 78.5 points.

Weston Patterson was third in the average with 161.5 points on two head. He won the third round with an 80.5-point ride on Beutler & Son Rodeo's State Side. He also came in second in the first round with 81 points. He finished fourth in average at the Ram Prairie Circuit Finals last season. He also won on average at the Permit Members of the Year Challenge in Las Vegas, along with three other titles last season.

Sam Martin didn’t finish in the Top 3 in the average but he did win the second round with an 83-point ride on Frontier Rodeo's Big News.
