"We the best" is more than a catchy motto; it is a clarion call for go-getters and self-starters everywhere. DJ Khaled has used his championship mindset and relentless work ethic to build a dynasty that blurs the lines of music, sneakers, fashion, and now sports drinks.

Gatorade has announced the launch of Gatorade iD, a new personalized membership platform that fuels self-expression as the brand takes another big step in fueling athletes. Gatorade iD offers the ability to customize your own equipment and provides access to exclusive experiences and drops.

To coincide with the launch of iD, Gatorade is teaming up with DJ Khaled for the first partnership in its new series of Gatorade iD Collaborations. The Gatorade x DJ Khaled capsule collection will be the brand's first drop, available exclusively via Gatorade iD.

Gatorade gave DJ Khaled the keys to merge the iconic brands in a capsule collection featuring a customized Gx bottle and towel, along with an exclusive Jordan Brand hoodie. It will be available for sale on Gatorade.com during Super Bowl week on February 8 at 10:00 a.m. ET for $140.

This is just the start – throughout 2024 and beyond, Gatorade iD members will have even more expansive personalization options and access to limited edition drops, plus additional discounts, rewards, and ways to earn points with every purchase on Gatorade.com and in-store.

FanNation Kicks spoke with DJ Khaled about his lifelong dream of working with the iconic brand - as always, his radiant rhetoric left us feeling motivated, victorious, and blessed.

What are you doing with Gatorade?

"Man, I'm doing a lot of beautiful things with Gatorade. I'm the first one to launch the Gatorade ID capsule. I've got the 'We The Best' Gatorade towel and this exclusive hoodie. It comes in a box with a beautiful message - 'More love, more blessings, more wins.' And I wrote something down in the box from my heart to inspire and motivate.

You know Gatorade stands for greatness. When you think about Gatorade, you think about MJ, Serena Williams, and icons. I may not be an athlete, but I have the mindset of an athlete. My mindset is to win and be great and to keep going and never give up. This partnership was like a dream come true for me, but also, I ain't never give up or fold. It's something I spoke into existence as a kid because I have drank this my whole life."

I know you’re very selective about your collaborations, why did you want to partner with Gatorade?

"This goes back to childhood. Two things I wanted to accomplish: collaborate with Michael Jordan (which I'm part of Jordan Brand and Team Jordan) and the same thing was Gatorade. I've been telling my brother Reg over 15-20 years ago that I want to do something with Gatorade. Organically, this all just happened. That's the message I want to give to the world. If you put your mindset to something you love and it's pure, you go all in."

Can you tell me about Gatorade ID and the DJ Khaled capsule collection?

"I'm going to use the words 'Members Only.' You have to be part of the family to access Gatorade ID and get the code at Gatorade.com. It's like a family thing, and as much as I'm speaking to the love of it, you have to be in this like an exclusive opportunity. It's fun, it's iconic, it's timeless, it's great."

Last question: What sneakers are in your rotation right now?

"These came back (the Air Jordan 3 "Fear"). My favorite J's is every J. But the 3s, 4s, and 1s are always in my rotation. Those are something I wear every day. I put those on, and I'm good."
