Adidas has reduced the price of Trae Young's second signature basketball shoe in many colorways.

No professional sports league does a better job of engaging its fans than the NBA. Players are most accessible than ever, and they always do an incredible job of managing the pressures that come with stardom.

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is at the top of the list of fan-friendly players. The 2x NBA All-Star regularly signs autographs and occasionally gifts his game-worn adidas shoes to kids in the crowd.

At 24 years old, Young is entering the next stage of his career. He is no longer the underdog with a massive chip on his shoulder. Young is a household name thanks to his multiple national ad campaigns and popular signature sneaker line.

Young's second signature basketball shoe launched in November 2022 for $140 in adult sizes. It took several months, but now five of the ten colorways have been marked down to $98 on the adidas website. Below is what fans must know before making the purchase.

The adidas Trae Young 2.0 is an upgrade from its predecessor in every way except for one crucial factor - how it looks. Young's first signature shoe was a fan-favorite thanks to its sleek silhouette and exciting colorways.

It also didn't hurt that Young debuted the shoes during a raucous playoff series against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden and wore them throughout the following season, where he led the league in total points and assists.

Most hoopers and sneakerheads were underwhelmed upon seeing the highly-anticipated second model. The bulbous basketball shoe features everything athletes could want in a performance model - Boost and Lightstrike cushioning combined with an adaptive fit SCK360 knit upper.

But design teams can't create colorways that illustrate a story with knit compared to mesh. If hoopers can get over the aesthetics of the shoe, then they are getting one of the better performance models on the market for under $100. At the end of the day, it's all about getting buckets anyway.
