Wednesday night will be an emotional night in the City of Roses. The Portland Trail Blazers will host the Milwaukee Bucks in the highly anticipated homecoming of Damian Lillard.
The 8x NBA All-Star spent the first ten seasons of his career in Portland before he was traded to Milwaukee in September 2023. For a decade, Lillard built a legacy of community involvement, clutch shots, and swaggering celebrations that can only be defined as "Dame Time."
While Lillard's time with the Trail Blazers organization has ended, the 33-year-old can never escape his relationship with the city of Portland. That bond was further cemented today when adidas officially named its Portland headquarters gymnasium court after Lillard.
This news comes from Nick DePaula of Boardroom, who reports, "The Damian Lillard Court marks the first time in adidas' 75-year history that the brand is naming a company location after an athlete.
Lillard first signed with adidas before his rookie season in 2012, before inking a massive 10-year, $100 million contract extension in 2014. Since then, Lillard's signature sneaker line has enjoyed eight installments, plus the recently launched "Certified" line that prioritizes affordability.
There has been much debate about the future of Lillard's signature sneaker line with adidas, but today's honor shows the two partners are not parting ways anytime soon. Athletes and fans can shop for Lillard's basketball shoes in full-family sizing on the adidas website.
At this point in his career, Lillard is focused on winning champions and certifying his legacy as one of the greatest point guards of all time. No matter where he goes, it will always be "Dame Time" in Portland with the help of adidas. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your sneaker news from the sports world.
