Austin Reaves Debuts New Sneakers on Christmas Day
Following an In-Season Tournament Championship and a successful multi-year contract extension with Rigorer, NBA star Austin Reaves will release a new AR1 colorway on the global marketplace KICKS CREW for the holiday season.
The new ‘Iceman’ colorway will be priced at $100 and be shock dropped exclusively on KICKS CREW on Christmas day. The Los Angeles Lakers star has had a successful end to his monumental year, from signing a seven-figure extension on his shoe deal to representing the United States in the FIBA World Cup. Now, Reaves is closing out the year with one final AR1 release for Christmas.
The AR1 ‘Iceman’ launch will mark the fifth release from Reaves' signature shoe line. This edition features a winter-inspired colorway, combining icy blue hues on a clean white base. Winter-themed detailing is also featured throughout the shoe and can be seen on the heel, insoles, and behind the tongue. KICKS CREW
Engineered to excel, the AR1 features the latest performance technology inspired by Rigorer’s journey in basketball. The Woven Cocoon Upper represents Reaves' continuous growth; the cocoon-inspired upper offers breathability and lockdown support.
Impact protection is provided by a Showtime Foam Tech Midsole encapsulated in an EVA foam. Rigorer’s latest midsole was designed with players like Austin in mind, who prefer a low-court feel while receiving immediate energy return. The Bubble Lacing system is an innovative and never-before-seen bubble design utilized on the AR1’s tongue, with encapsulated foam “bubbles” to eliminate lace bite for players.
Additionally, front Sidewall TPU panels are utilized on the lateral sides to enhance forefoot lockdown and eliminate foot slippage. The heel TPU enhances heel stability when landing, preventing severe ankle injuries. An anti-skid heel gives an innovative lining within the heel collar to enhance heel lockdown and reduce injury.
