Breaking Down the Golf Shoes Worn During "The Match 8"

Different brands competed for attention with their golf shoes during "The Match 8".

Golf requires mental toughness, and last night was a perfect example. Capital One hosted "The Match 8," where Golden State Warriors teammates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson faced off against Kansas City Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

The Chiefs teammates won the 12-hole scramble format, but more importantly, the event raised money for multiple charities, including the No Kid Hungry campaign. Of course, the friendly game gave sneaker companies a chance to compete in front of a national audience.

Each athlete represented a different brand, with everyone except Kelce carrying the title of a signature athlete for their respective sponsor. Below are the golf shoes worn by each of last night's participants.

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry stole the show by wearing his own line of golf attire. In 2020 Under Armour launched Curry Brand, which has expanded into other sports outside of basketball.

Curry represented Curry Brand from head to toe last night, including wearing the UA Charged Curry Spikeless Golf shoes. Although the red and black colorway is not available online, athletes can choose between two styles for $150 on the Curry Brand website

Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has always maintained a laid-back personality, so it is only fitting that he golfs in a pair of his signature basketball shoes. Thompson wore a white and gold colorway of his eighth signature shoe with ANTA.

The Chinese brand is difficult to find in the United States. However, fans wanting some of Thompson's shoes should use KICKS CREW. The sneaker platform is trustworthy and has the widest selection of footwear.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes really loves his signature adidas shoes. He wears them casually and during events that require athletic performance. But then again, the adidas Mahomes 1 Impact FLX is one of the best training shoes on the market.

Last fall, adidas launched Mahomes' signature sneaker line, and it has not disappointed. While Mahomes' black and red colorway from last night is not available online, fans can choose between several styles at or below retail price on the adidas website.

Chiefs tight end and FanNation Kicks MVP Travis Kelce always lives up to the lofty expectations placed upon him. Kelce may not be a signature athlete, but he made Nike proud with his knit outfit and Air Jordan golf shoes.

Kelce wore the Air Jordan 1 Low Golf in an all-white colorway. The shoes are available in six colorways for $140 on the Nike website. Kelce made Michael Jordan's legendary basketball shoes look even better on the golf course than on the basketball court.
