Dak Prescott Lights Up Rams in 'Man of the Year' Air Jordans
Sunday afternoon's slate of NFL games was mostly competitive. One of the few exceptions was the Dallas Cowboys' 43-20 dismantling of the Los Angeles Rams. There is plenty of credit to go around in the Cowboys locker room, but one player stood out with his performance.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott lit up the Rams' defense, completing 25-31 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns. At this point in his career, there is no denying that Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Even better, his impact off the field is just as important.
Last year, Prescott won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award. The 30-year-old's philanthropy and community impact made him an easy choice for the honor. It also served as the inspiration for the cleats Prescott wore on the field yesterday.
Prescott is arguably the face of Jordan Brand in the NFL, and the design team always cooks up the best cleats for the Cowboys quarterback. Jumpman designer Ryan M. Smith shared detailed pictures of Prescott's cleats on Instagram during Sunday's game.
According to Smith, Prescott wore the Air Jordan 3 in the ‘Man of the Year’ colorway. Smith said the cleats were "Inspired by his award fit when he [Prescott] was named Man of the Year last year by the NFL." The cleats are truly one-of-one and will never be released to the public.
While that is disheartening, online shoppers can still choose between a wide variety of Cowboys gear and retro Air Jordan sneakers on the Nike website. In the meantime, we will continue to watch Prescott perform at a high level and look good doing it. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your sneaker news from the sports world.
