Deion Sanders' Nike Apparel Might Be On The Way
On Saturday, April 22, a sell-out crowd of 45,000 fans will filter into Folsom Field for the Colorado Buffaloes spring football game. It will be the NCAA spring game broadcast live by ESPN, and the sport has one man to thank - Deion Sanders.
The former two-sport professional athlete turned announcer turned coach was the biggest hire of the offseason. Sanders is a force of nature that infuses energy into anything he touches. However, there was one potential dilemma about Sanders' move from Jackson State to Colorado.
The football Hall of Famer initially signed with Nike in 1995 before becoming a brand ambassador for Under Armour in 2009. And Colorado's ten-year contract with Nike does not expire until the end of the 2024-25 fiscal year. Many speculated that something would have to give in order to make the arrangement work for all parties.
In March, The Athletic reported that Sanders could keep his Under Armour deal on the side as long as he wore Nike gear while at Colorado. Despite swearing off Nike some time ago, Sanders has embraced the Swoosh once again and has been seen sporting customized co-branded gear.
Sanders regularly posts photos and videos to his official Instagram account, which documents heart-warming inspirational messages and hilarious viral moments. Take a closer look at his apparel, and you will see him wearing Nike gear with branding like "Coach Prime" and other mantras popularized by Sanders printed in black and gold across his chest.

Will fans fan eventually be able to purchase Nike apparel as part of a special collection designed for (or by) Sanders in Buffaloes' colors? We don't know the answer yet. But if anyone can pull off the feat, it would be Sanders.
Fans of a certain age will remember when Sanders was at his peak superstardom. It was not uncommon to see Sanders play an NFL game during the day and an MLB game at night, with plenty of Nike commercials in between.
The two-sport phenom had a signature footwear line that spawned football and baseball gear. While Nike and Sanders have not made any official announcements yet, we hope that his unreleased apparel is a sign of things to come for fans.
