LeBron James Shows Love to Jackie Robinson

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James wore unreleased Nike shoes honoring Jackie Robinson.

It has been an eventful week for LeBron James. Before the Los Angeles Lakers clinched the seventh seed in last night's Western Conference Playoffs, the NBA's all-time leading scorer debuted an unreleased pair of shoes.

Baseball fans and Angelenos will be quick to remind you that Jackie Robinson Day is this weekend on, Saturday, April 15. Every MLB player will wear the number 42, and the world will reflect on the accomplishments of one of the most influential athletes in American history.

Nike is celebrating the big day with a special sneaker release. Fans got a sneak peek of the Nike Air Force 1 'Jackie Robinson' when James showed off the Brooklyn Dodgers-themed kicks on social media earlier this week.

The limited-edition shoes contain several nods to Robinson, including Dodgers branding, baseball stitching on the heel, the number 42 on the heels, and "change the world" on the shoelaces. Below is what fans must know about the release information.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low 'Jackie Robinson' is scheduled to launch on Saturday, April 15, at 2:00 p.m. EST. Fans can purchase the shoes for $120 in adult sizes on the Nike SNKRS app.

Due to the popularity and scarce supply of these commemorative kicks, it is going to be hard for most fans to purchase the shoes at the retail price. After they inevitably sell out online, Dodgers fans can try their luck on sneaker resale websites such as StockX, GOAT, and eBay.

For those who want to avoid the hectic release but still show love to Robinson, there are shirts and jerseys available at an affordable price on the Nike website. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your footwear news.
