Micah Parsons Honors Emmitt Smith With Pregame Sneakers
Not only can football fans always count on Micah Parsons bringing the pain every week with his big hits, but they can also rely on him wearing fire footwear. Before Sunday's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals, Parsons used the opportunity to salute a Cowboys legend.
Dallas ended up losing the game 28-16 to Arizona. But before the upset, fans got a great view of Parsons entering State Farm Stadium. The 2x NFL All-Pro player paid tribute to Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith by rocking his retro signature sneakers.
Throughout the 1990s, Reebok was represented by many of the biggest names in professional sports - including Smith. After more than a decade, the Boston-based brand has finally brought back Smith's signature training shoes - the Reebok ES22.
The Reebok ES22 made its epic return on September 15, 2023. Cowboys fans can still purchase the shoes for $180 in adult sizes on Reebok's website and select retailers. Below is everything online shoppers must know about the old-school training shoes.
Reebok ES22
The Reebok ES22 was first launched in 1996 during the height of Cowboys mania. Smith was in his prime and on his way to becoming the greatest running back the NFL has ever seen.
All of the fan-favorite design elements of the training shoe are back, plus some important upgrades. The brand's newest technology, Viz-Hex, exposed visible Hexalite (Reebok’s groundbreaking honeycomb-shaped cushioning technology) via the outsole to showcase the technological point-of-difference of Reebok athletic footwear.
The synthetic upper sports a mix of Club Blue and Night Black with white textile lining. Meanwhile, the rugged rubber outsole provides the foundation of the sneaker. Parsons never misses on or off the field with his footwear, and we salute the Cowboys linebacker for always showing off his sneaker knowledge.
