Nike Has Big Plans for Jordan Poole After Contract Extension
It has been less than a month since the Golden State Warriors traded Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards. However, the fifth-year NBA shooting guard's eventful offseason continued with an exciting new announcement.
According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, Poole has signed a long-term sneaker deal extension with Nike. Additionally, Poole will continue to headline the Nike G.T. Cut sneaker series.
On July 31, Nike foreshadowed the announcement by posting a video on its social media channels of Poole discussing the Nike GT Cut 2. Poole complimented the shoe's traction, lightness, stability, and cushion.
Over the past week, Nike has dedicated five social media posts to Poole and the Nike GT Cut series. One of Nike's captions read, "The Nike G.T. Cut 2 is created to be the pinnacle of Nike Basketball technology, so hoopers like Jordan Poole can make the quick cuts they need to take their game to the next level and be greater than the competition."
Nike Zoom GT Cut 2
The second installment of the Nike GT Cut series launched in 2022 for $170 in adult sizes. However, most of the 14 Nike GT Cut 2 colorways currently available on the Nike website have been marked down in price.
The performance basketball shoe features a low-to-the-ground design that helps minimize court contact while switching directions. Nike React technology paired with parabolic Air Zoom Strobel cushioning stacked with a Zoom Air unit in the heel helps provide the responsiveness to create space off the dribble.
Traction is provided by the advanced hollow herringbone pattern - perfect for players running around the court looking for a shot. Lastly, the breathable upper is lightweight to better aid athletes logging heavy minutes.
Poole and the Nike Zoom GT Cut series are a match made in heaven. One of Nike's most technologically advanced basketball shoes pairs nicely with Poole, who averaged a career-high 20 points and four assists per game last season.
