UCLA Bruins Get Rare Colorway of Jayson Tatum's Sneakers
The first signature basketball shoe for Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has been an absolute hit with the sneaker community. Athletes and fans have devoured several highly anticipated colorways of the new Jordan Brand performance model.
However, no one was ready for the hype surrounding a newly surfaced style of the Jordan Tatum 1. On Thursday evening, the sports world got a sneak peek at a colorway designed for the UCLA Bruins basketball teams.
The Jordan Tatum 1 'UCLA' sports a powder blue mesh upper with speckled laces. A cosmic galaxy design accentuates the white foam wrap on the lateral sides. Meanwhile, the iconic Jumpman logo flies through a cloud pattern on the heels. Lastly, cobranding featuring Tatum's signature "JT" logo and the retro Joe Bruin logo appears on the tongues.

Unfortunately for sneakerheads, these ultra-rare shoes will never be released to the public. Chalk it up as one of the many perks of playing for the bluest of blue-blood college basketball programs (11 NCAA National Basketball Championships for those keeping score at home). The silver lining is online shoppers can choose between a wide selection of officially licensed UCLA gear on the Nike website.
Since partnering with Jordan Brand in 2021, UCLA has been the West Coast flagship school for Jumpman. The Bruins regularly make headlines for debuting the brand's newest apparel, such as when freshman guard Kiki Rice debuted the Air Jordan 38 in the 2023 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
