Anthony Edwards & Adidas Pick Fight With NBA Stars
Basketball fans know that the NBA cannot go a single day without drama. Honestly, it is one of the many reasons why we love this incredible league. The new season is barely 24 hours old, and we already have beef - best of all, it involves sneakers.
For far too long, sneakerheads have complained about unremarkable shoes and generic marketing ideas. That will not be the case for Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards. On Wednesday night, Edwards appeared in an adidas promo that was nothing less than a declaration of war.
In the social media video, Edwards picked up the signature sneakers of players, dissed them, and tossed the kicks over his shoulders. Eventually, Edwards concluded, "No one touching the AE 1s."
Some of the shoes Edwards dissed were the signature models of Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball, Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Donic, and Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James.
It did not take long for Ball and PUMA to fire back in the comment section. It is safe to assume that other brands will respond in time. Either way, Edwards' debut signature sneaker is exciting, and his marketing is unlike anything we have ever seen before.
Fans must wait until December 2023 to purchase a pair of the AE 1. The hoop shoes are not even out yet, and they are already disrupting the NBA. We love to see it. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your sneaker news.
