Sometimes, an athlete has palpable energy, and the current hot streak Coco Gauff is riding is unmistakable. With the tennis world focused on the U.S. Open, Gauff is ready to light up New York City.

Earlier this week, the WTA top-10 ranked player unveiled a new colorway for her signature shoe, the Coco CG1 'City Brights,' at her pop-up at the New Balance Flatiron Store.

The Coco CG1 'City Brights' colorway brings the same high-voltage electricity to the tennis court as Coco brings to her game. And with no atmosphere more electrifying than the U.S. Open, this colorway doesn’t skimp on wattage—with a shock of green contrasting with warm shades of red and brown.

The New Balance Coco CG1 'City Brights' was released on Friday, August 25. Athletes and fans can purchase the shoes for $170 in adult sizes and $80 in kid sizes on the New Balance website.

From the start of Coco’s relationship with New Balance, her family has been involved in the design process of the Coco CG1 to create colorways that have special meaning for the biggest stages.

During the design process of the Coco CG1 City Brights color, Coco’s mom and aunt suggested the muted tones of red and brown, as both are colors that complement Coco’s skin tone. Coco’s family has also been involved in previous colorways, with Coco’s youngest brother Cameron designing a kid's colorway earlier this year called Colors by Cameron.

With her family's support and New Balance's cutting-edge technology, Gauff is ready to shine in New York City. Stay tuned to FanNationKicks.com for all your footwear coverage.
