Donovan Mitchell Calls Game in His New Adidas Sneakers
On Tuesday night, adidas held an event at its Flagship Store on 5th Avenue in New York City. The occasion was a celebration of the launch of the new D.O.N. Issue 5 "Blue Sapphire" colorway. Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell promoted his new sneakers and took questions from adidas Basketball Legacy student-athletes.
Fast forward 24 hours, and Mitchell's newly-released sneakers are enjoying the spotlight. Mitchell sunk a game-winning buzzer-beater to lead the Cavaliers to a 114-113 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. It was not a bad start to the NBA season for Mitchell.
Neither Mitchell's fan-friendly demeanor nor his ice-cold nerves should come as a surprise. Earlier this month, FanNation Kicks spoke with Mitchell about his latest signature sneaker, and the perennial NBA All-Star discussed how he wanted to use the model to highlight positivity.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue 5 is currently available in three colorways for $120 in adult sizes and $90 in kid's sizes on the adidas website. The performance basketball shoe features Lightstrike cushioning and a mesh upper with at least 50% recycled content.
Mitchell does not miss on the court or off the court. At just 27 years old, Mitchell is leading by example in the NBA and in the sneaker industry. Follow FanNationKicks.com for all your footwear news from the sports world.
