The Top 10 Easter Sneakers in NBA History
Easter Sunday marks the final day of the 2022-23 NBA regular season. With the playoff brackets almost entirely set, the last day of the season often gets overlooked. So too, does Easter when it comes to holiday-themed colorways in the sneaker world.
Adidas and Nike used to fully embrace the holiday with perfectly coordinated launches of signature shoes in bright colorways. Even though the brands have shied away from that trend over the last decade, we have ranked the top ten Easter colorways of sneakers worn during NBA games.
Top Ten Easter Sneakers
Nike Kobe 10
The Nike Kobe 10 'Easter' was released on April 2, 2015. Due to injuries, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was never able to wear the shoe on the court. In fact, later in Bryant's career, he often had to rely on teammates to debut his newest signature models.
However, the Nike Kobe 10 'Easter' squeezes onto our list thanks to its staying power. It is not uncommon to see the old-school hoop shoe on the court during NBA games to this day. The shoes have an average resale price of $493 on the sneaker resale website StockX.
Nike LeBron 12
Fans love the early years of LeBron James' signature sneaker line. Even the most recent Nike LeBron 20 is a hit among fans and hoopers. However, most sneakerheads prefer to forget about most models after the Nike LeBron 10.
However, the Nike LeBron 12 'Easter' deserves love thanks to its "sunset glow" and "hot lava" colors. Currently, fans can purchase the shoes for roughly $228 on StockX.
Nike KD 4
Kevin Durant's professional career has had several twists and turns that will be challenging to explain to future generations. However, there is no denying his skill or legendary sneaker line.
The Nike KD 4 is one of the more popular models of the Nike KD line, and the Easter colorway is one of our personal favorites. Currently, the Nike KD 4 has an average resale price of $384 on StockX.
Adidas Harden Vol. 3
Technically, the adidas Harden Vol. 3 was never released in an Easter-themed colorway. However, James Harden did debut a coral colorway in April 2019 that turned out to be a player-exclusive colorway.
Harden has had several colorways that release in pastel colorways early in the spring, so it is only fitting that we squeeze one of the more underlooked models from the Harden line onto our list.
Adidas D Lillard 1
People can always count on Damian Lillard to perform well on the court. The same can be said of his signature line with adidas. Although the brand tweaked the name after the second model, the original Adidas D Lillard 1 remains unforgettable.
Adidas athletes wore Easter-themed colorways of their signature shoes in 2015. Lillard, John Wall, and Dwight Howard all got pink and purple colorways to celebrate the holiday. Good luck to fans hoping to find the shoes on the sneaker resale market.
Nike Kobe 9
Unfortunately, the Nike Kobe 9 is another model that its namesake did not get to wear much on the court. However, Nike was cranking out countless colorways of the Nike Kobe 9 throughout 2014 and 2015.
Like most older models from Bryant's legendary signature line, the Nike Kobe 9 'Easter' is getting tougher to find. Currently, the shoes have an average resale price of $467 on StockX.
Nike KD 6
Kevin Durant's sixth signature was one of many hits from the Nike KD line. We especially love the Nike KD 6 'Easter' thanks to its "light lucid green" and "atomic mango" upper.
The Nike KD 6 was released in April 2014 and has not enjoyed retro treatment yet, but our fingers remain crossed. In the meantime, the shoes have an average resale price of $243 on StockX.
Nike Kobe 11 Elite
The last Nike Kobe model to release in an Easter colorway went out with a bang. Bryant never wore the Nike Kobe 11 'Easter' on the court, but that did not stop fans from gobbling up the shoes in March 2016.
The colorway featured a gradient "grey" and "bright mango" upper that celebrates the holiday while remaining true to the Black Mamba's snakelike shoes. Currently, the shoes have an average resale price of $428 on StockX.
Nike Kyrie 1
It was all so simple between Kyrie Irving and Nike back in April 2015. The two partners found immediate success with the first installment of the Nike Kyrie line and had many more future hits in front of them.
While the Nike Kyrie line is over, we can still reminisce over the Nike Kyrie 1 'Easter' colorway. The "medium berry" and "hot lava" upper stood out on the court and withstood the test of time. Currently, the shoes have an average resale price of $226 on StockX.
Nike Kobe 8
Did you really think Kobe Bryant wasn't going to top our list of the best Easter-themed basketball shoes? The Nike Kobe line dominated Christmas, and Easter is no different.
The Nike Kobe 8 'Easter' was released in March 2013 and has an average resale price of $705 on StockX. Nike is launching the Kobe 8 Protro later this year, and we are begging for another Easter colorway of the iconic hoop shoe.
