Erling Haaland Joins Elite List Of EPL Players To Score 40+ Goals In One Season In All Competitions
Erling Haaland scored his sixth hat-trick of the season as Manchester City thrashed Burnley 6-0 in Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final.
The 22-year-old, who had netted five times in a 7-0 win over RB Leipzig four days earlier, has now scored 42 goals in 37 games for City this season.
Haaland is only the sixth Premier League player ever to register more than 40 goals across all competitions in a single club campaign.
The first EPL player to pass the 40-goal mark was Andy Cole, who scored 41 times in 45 matches for Newcastle in the 1993/1994 season.
Liverpool's Mo Salah and Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy currently share the record for most club goals scored in a season in all competitions by a Premier League player.
Van Nistelrooy set the record by scoring 44 goals in 52 games during the 2002/03 season, before Salah equaled that tally, also in 52 games, in 2017/18.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored 42 times in 49 Man United appearances in 2007/08.
Harry Kane completes the list, having netted 41 goals in 48 games in Tottenham's 2017/18 campaign.
