A memorable goal from Declan Rice started a late Arsenal comeback that resulted in Mikel Arteta's side holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea led 2-0 and appeared to be comfortably heading towards an impressive Premier League victory until Rice punished an error by Robert Sanchez in the 77th minute.

Blues keeper Sanchez misplaced a pass from near the corner of his 18-yard box and the ball rolled into the path of Rice.

With Sanchez out of position, Rice read the situation brilliantly and whipped a first-time shot into the unguarded net from more than 30 yards.

This was not the first goalkeeping blunder of the game.

Arsenal keeper David Raya had been caught out by a mishit cross from Mykhailo Mudryk earlier in the second half.

Mudryk's fluke goal came after Cole Palmer had opened the scoring from a penalty kick.

But Rice's goal saw the game's momentum shift in Arsenal's favor and the away side drew level in the 84th minute when Leandro Trossard volleyed home from a Bukayo Saka cross.

Saturday's result maintained Arsenal's unbeaten record in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners now have 21 points from nine games and sit behind leaders Manchester City on goal difference.
