Manchester City will be reunited with the Premier League trophy after Sunday's game against Chelsea.

That will be the time for official celebration.

But City's players started the party on Saturday as soon as their title triumph was confirmed by Arsenal losing to Nottingham Forest.

Pep Guardiola's side gathered around a television set after training and watched on as Arsenal fell to a 1-0 defeat in Nottingham.

That result made it mathematically impossible for Arsenal to catch City this season.

City's players leapt to their feet as soon as the final whistle was blown before dancing around one of the reception rooms at the club's Etihad Campus.

Multiple City stars later took to social media to post celebratory messages.

Erling Haaland wrote: "Always give your best. Always believe. It pays off. C'MON CITY!"

Captain Ilkay Gundogan added: "Champioooooooooons!!!! To have won the @PremierLeague title three times in a row and five times in six years is just amazing!!! Proud to be captain of this world class team!"
