Arlington Renegades Continue to Bolster Offensive Line with Addition of Former NFL Guard
The offensive line of the Arlington Renegades has been a strong point for the team since last season. After losing Garrett McGhin to injury, the team has been looking to add depth on the line to maintain that advantage. The signing of guard Marquis Lucas on Monday should help with that.
Lucas's experience in spring football leagues and the NFL dates back to 2016. He spent the last two seasons starting for the New Orleans Breakers in the USFL, and he also started for the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL in 2020 and the Orlando Apollos of the AAF in 2019.
Lucas began his pro career in the NFL in 2016 with the Buffalo Bills before playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons in 2017.
He attended West Virginia for four seasons (2012-2015), starting in 30 of the 36 games he appeared in, including 26 in the last two seasons.
Every starter from last year's offensive line will be back for the Renegades in 2024. Obviously McGhin will be missing, but the team has plenty of talent at tackle to replace him, including former NFL tackle Bobby Evans. Lucas is an option to fill in or possibly compete for a guard position with Arlington.
UFL teams will be making their first roster cuts on March 10, going from 75 to 58 players.
