Former NFL First-Round Pick Among Four UFL Players Waived

The UFL announced Tuesday night that four players were waived, including former Cleveland Browns first-round pick Corey Coleman.

Changes continue to happen with rosters in the UFL teams get closer to training camp in February. The league announced Tuesday night that seven players were signed, but four were waived, including former NFL wide receiver Corey Coleman.

Here are the four players that were released by UFL teams:

  • CB Jordan Miller (Arlington Renegades)
  • MLB Edmond Robinson (Arlington Renegades)
  • WR Damion Willis (Memphis Showboats)
  • WR Corey Coleman (Michigan Panthers)

The Coleman release comes as a surprise after he was drafted by the Michigan Panthers in the UFL Dispersal Draft. Coleman led the USFL in receiving yards with 669 and added four touchdowns for the Philadelphia Stars. He also had more than 200 yards of return yards, putting his all-purpose yardage at 881 for the season.

Coleman was originally a first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2016. He was traded to the Buffalo Bills after one season. He also played for the New England Patriots, New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs through the 2022 season. His career NFL stats include 61 receptions for 789 yards and five touchdowns.

Miller was on the Arlington Renegades roster last season, finishing the year with four tackles and one interception. From 2019 through 2022 he played in the NFL with four different NFL teams registering five tackles.

Robinson, who missed six regular season games due to injury for the Renegades last season, finished with seven tackles in four contests. He played in the XFL in 2020 with the Houston Roughnecks, notching 22 tackles and two sacks in five games. Robinson also played in the NFL with five different teams from 2015-21, registering 29 tackles.

Willis was with the Seattle Sea Dragons last season, catching 18 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown. He played in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Giants. Willis played 10 games for the Bengals, registering nine receptions for 82 yards.

The league has announced nine players being waived since the UFL Dispersal Drafts.
