Latest UFL Transactions: Three Players Released, Houston Roughnecks Add Center
The UFL has so far seen over 200 players signed across eight teams, but Monday's report of transactions saw the following three players released:
- OT Isaiah Battle (Houston Roughnecks)
- DT Willie Henry (Memphis Showboats)
- OG Haggai Chisom Ndbubuisi (San Antonio Brahmas)
In addition to the releases, one player was added. Center Isaac Weaver was brought on by the Houston Roughnecks after spending time in 2023 with the Los Angeles Chargers. He started 47 games for Old Dominion in college.
Battle has plenty of spring football experience, playing for four teams since 2020. His first spring ball stop was with the Seattle Dragons in the 2020 XFL version, and he has played in the USFL for the last two years with the Pittsburgh Maulers and the New Jersey Generals. The NFL was his first destination from 2015 through 2017 with four different teams as well.
Henry found success with the Birmingham Stallions the last two years, winning titles with the team while also producing 36 tackles and five sacks. He’s a former fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens and appeared on rosters for five NFL teams from 2016 through 2021.
Ndubuisi signed with San Antonio earlier in the month after previously playing for the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos in the NFL in 2022 and 2023. He has also been part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, training to play football in Nigeria.
Training camp for the UFL begins on Feb. 23.
