San Antonio has been one of the most active teams during the short offseason following the takeover of a new coaching staff. The Brahmas added two more players on Wednesday — center Sam Tecklenburg and inside linebacker Kelechi Anyalebechi.

Tecklenburg signed with the Carolina Panthers after going unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft. He appeared in 17 games between 2020 and 2021, making one start at center. The Panthers had him on the practice squad during the 2022 season before releasing him last year during training camp.

He attended Baylor in college from 2015 through 2018, at one point starting 25 straight games on the offensive line at both guard and center. He was named to the Second-Team All-Big 12 Academic team in 2018.

Anyalebechi spent time with the Los Angeles Rams last year in preseason, posting 10 tackles in three games before being waived.

He played five years of college football at Incarnate Word, posting 285 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 12 pass deflections, 9.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and four interceptions in 48 games. Anyalabechi broke a school record for tackles in a season with 130 and was named Third-Team FCS All-American in 2021.

The Brahmas open the season at home on Sunday, March 31 against the D.C. Defenders.
