Three Players Waived from UFL Teams, Including RB Max Borghi
After one day without any moves made, UFL teams were back at it on Thursday. Three players were released, including St. Louis Battlehawks running back Max Borghi, St. Louis Battlehawks guard Kahlil McKenzie and Birmingham Stallions guard Tre’Vour Wallace-Sims.
The Borghi news was expected, as SI reported last month that he would not be playing for the Battlehawks in the 2024 season as he pursues a new career. He rushed for 310 yards and six touchdowns last year with the Houston Roughnecks and played in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.
McKenzie was selected by St. Louis in the seventh round of the UFL Dispersal Draft last month. He spent last season in the XFL on the reserve list with the Vegas Vipers, and he was a Los Angeles Wildcat in 2020. During his NFL career, he made the active roster with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020 and the Baltimore Ravens in 2021.
Wallace-Sims signed with the Stallions early last season and was retained by the team last month before the UFL Dispersal Drafts. From 2020 through 2022, he played in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans.
The league’s training camp is scheduled to begin Feb. 24.
