Brooks Koepka Says His Episode of Netflix’s ‘Full Swing’ Didn’t Show the ‘Full Picture’

The LIV member took to Instagram to answer fan questions on Thursday and commented on his portrayal in Netflix’s ‘Full Swing.’

Unlike Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka did tune in to watch Netflix’s newly released documentary series, Full Swing, and the four-time major champion had some notes on his portrayal in the show.

On Thursday evening Koepka participated in a Q&A session from his LIV Golf team’s Instagram stories. When asked about his thoughts on episode two, “Win or Go Home,” Koepka explained that the show left out a few key details about his 2022 struggles on the course.

“I thought it was interesting. Obviously, when you do something like that it doesn’t show the full picture of what’s going on. A lot of that stuff was done not even a year after surgery,” Koepka said. “So there was a lot of stuff going on just between trying to figure out my body, the proprioception and where I was at. If you’re not healthy and you can’t move the way you want to move, it’s tough to swing it properly, so just a lot of frustration, a lot of stuff wasn’t seen. It is what it is.”

The episode follows the stories of two individuals in very different places in their careers. Koepka, former world No. 1 battles a crippling slump, while Scottie Scheffler begins his rise to the top of the professional game by winning the Masters

At one point in the episode, Koepka stumbles to remember whether he watched the final round of the 2022 Masters after missing the cut. The LIV golfer then says, “This is really bad. I don’t even know who won this year.”

Koepka addressed that widely shared moment from Full Swing in the same Q&A, when a fan asked, “Who won the Masters last year?”

“We all know who won the Masters, Scottie Scheffler. We have the same agent. I just had a brain fart like none of y’all ever have not had one. C’mon. Be real,” Koepka answered.

The former U.S. Open champion also revealed that he’s squashed any remaining tension with Bryson DeChambeau. Before the emergence of LIV Golf, Koepka and DeChambeau’s feud was among the hottest topics in the golf world. According to Koepka, the two LIV Golf members talk on an “every other day basis.”

Koepka also addressed the reported “scuffle” between himself and Dustin Johnson at the 2018 Ryder Cup. Koepka says that the two were simply “horsing around,” and pointed to the fact that the teammates went for a night out in Paris later that evening.

“If there was a scuffle it wasn’t too bad,” Koepka said.

Koepka, Johnson, and DeChambeau are all competing in LIV Golf’s first event of the 2023 season in Mayakoba, Mexico this weekend.
