In this new episode, Austin Kaiser, Xander Schauffele’s caddie for six years, dishes on what it felt like to be inside the ropes for Schauffele’s gold medal run at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Kaiser reveals the moments when he got emotional after the win, including a phone call from his wife, Tiffany, 20 minutes after the final putt. Her emotion caused Kaiser to break down and cry as well. For Schauffele, the emotion hit him once he cleared out his locker a couple hours after the win -- he hugged Kaiser and pumped his caddie’s chest while yelling out expletives in jubilation.

Kaiser weighed in on whether caddies should get medals, and says that he doesn’t feel badly about not getting one. Also, Kaiser details what the celebratory bus ride to the hotel felt like with Schauffele and his father, Stefan, as they blasted “We are the Champions” and took cell phone videos together. The plane ride out of Japan with other players and caddies was even more epic. Kaiser says that caddies and players gathered in the back of the plane and drank all the beer on the aircraft. Oh, to be a fly on the wall for that wild ride.
