A total of 73 players are entered in LIV Golf’s Abu Dhabi Promotions event, including major champion Jason Dufner, two-time PGA Tour winner Kyle Stanley and former U.S. Ryder Cup team member Jeff Overton.

Three LIV spots for 2024 will be up for grabs at the three-day, four-round competition which will be played Dec. 8-10 at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Dufner, 46, won the 2013 PGA Championship and played a full season on the PGA Tour in 2023, where he made 13 cuts in 33 starts.

Other notable entrants include PGA Tour winners Kevin Chappell and Chris Stroud, as well as 2014 European Ryder Cup star Victor Dubuisson of France. The 2017 NCAA Division I golf champion Braden Thornberry is in the field, as well as Australia’s Ryan Ruffels, the brother of LPGA rookie Gabi Ruffels.

Additionally, four former LIV members who were relegated will tee it up. Sihwan Kim, Chase Koepka, Jed Morgan and James Piot will attempt to play their way back onto the Saudi-backed tour.

The top three finishers in the event will have the opportunity to be drafted onto one of 12 LIV Golf teams for the 2024 season.

“LIV Golf Promotions creates an open pathway for players to compete in the LIV Golf League, and the interest shown in the event’s inaugural year reinforces the significance of these new opportunities for the sport,” LIV CEO Greg Norman said.

Although the PGA Tour has said that the promotions event does not qualify as an “unauthorized tournament,” it is unclear whether the PGA Tour players in the field will face sanctions for teeing it up.
