Sunday’s final round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic culminated with a thrilling three-golfer playoff, with Rickie Fowler besting Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin for his first PGA Tour win in over four years. Not factoring in the race for the top of the leaderboard was Max Homa, who turned in four rounds in the 60s and delivered one of the highlights of the day with a hole-in-one on No. 15, his second ace on the Tour.

After the round, Homa—always quick with a quip—joked about not actually being able to see the ball go in the hole and simply reacting to the crowd noise. He also flashed his typical self-deprecating humor on social media, alluding to the fact that, despite the highlight, he merely finished in a tie for 21st, nine strokes behind the leaders.

Homa included a screenshot of an oft-meme’d YouTube video highlight from Game 7 of the 2022 Western Conference semifinals series between the Suns and Mavericks, which Dallas famously won by 33 in Phoenix and led by as many as 46.

Homa’s 21st-place finish is not nearly on the same level as the Suns’ debacle, though kudos to the 32-year-old for always being able to make a joke at his own expense.
