Mesquite Wildcats edges Cactus Cobras 39-38 in Arizona high school football game

Highland HS - Mesquite High School Quarterback Ty Thompson had 314 passing yards and threw for 3 touchdowns to lead Mesquite Wildcats to a 39-38 win over Cactus Cobras on Friday night at Highland HS in a high school football game.

The Wildcats also received key efforts from Wide Receiver Eric Lira who caught 15 passes for 231 yards and 3 touchdowns and Safety Lavontae Trotter who caught 5 passes for 39 yards.

Cactus' Quarterback Will Galvan threw for 102 yards and 1 touchdown, Running Back Damian Jiles picked up 126 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns and Defensive Back Joseph Lagafuaina had 50 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Mesquite improve to 9-1 on the season while Cactus falls to 7-3. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
