Venice Indians edge Naples Golden Eagles 12-11 in Florida high school football game

Venice - Venice High School quarterback Brooks Bentley had 69 passing yards to help the Venice Indians to a 12-11 win over the Naples Golden Eagles on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Indians also received key efforts from defensive back Elliot Washington who rushed 5 times for 28 yards and running back Ashari Charles who rushed 15 times for 27 yards.

Naples' quarterback Jack Melton threw for 29 yards, ISAIAH Augustave picked up 72 rushing yards and tight end Jonathan Havig had 29 receiving yards.

The win helps Venice improve to 1-2 on the season while Naples falls to 2-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Venice will challenge the St. Frances Panthers at home on Thursday September 15. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.

Naples will face off against the Immokalee Indians at home on Friday September 9. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
