Merrillville defeats Hammond 86-70

Merrillville High School - Merrillville's Johnny Bernard led all scorers with 33 points as the Pirates beat Hammond 86-70 in a game at Merrillville High School ."

Bernard's points came on 6 field goals, 3 three pointers and 12 of 15 free throws during the game.

Hammond was led by miller's 22 points and bates added 20. Hammond fell to 0-0 overall while Merrillville improved their record to 1-0.

Merrillville will host North Central on Saturday Dec. 23 at 2:00pm.
