Van Meter Bulldogs beat Underwood Eagles 17-7 in IA high school football game

Underwood - Van Meter High School quarterback Jay Haley had 150 passing yards and threw for 1 touchdown to help the Van Meter Bulldogs to a 17-7 win over the Underwood Eagles on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Bulldogs also received helpful efforts from Garrett Cole who rushed 26 times for 78 yards and 1 touchdown and Caleb Moore who caught 4 passes for 89 yards.

Underwood's Garrett Luett threw for 154 yards and 1 touchdown, Riley Sealock picked up 12 rushing yards and Easton Robertson had 79 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Van Meter improve to 1-0 on the season while Underwood falls to 0-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Van Meter travels to Des Moines, IA to challenge the Des Moines Christian Lions on Friday September 6. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
