Camanche Indians crushes Independence Mustangs 42-18 in Iowa high school football game

Camanche - Camanche High School Mike Delzell accumulated 241 passing yards and threw for 1 touchdown to help Camanche Indians to a 42-18 win over Independence Mustangs on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Indians also received major efforts from Cade Everson who rushed 11 times for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns and Logan Shaw who caught 4 passes for 87 yards and 1 touchdown.

Independence's Mitchell Johnson threw for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns, Marcus Beatty picked up 128 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and Keegan Schmitt had 77 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

The win helps Camanche improve to 1-0 on the season while Independence falls to 1-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Independence travels to Oelwein, IA to take on the Oelwein Huskies on Friday September 11 at 5:30pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
