Petal Panthers beat Northwest Rankin Cougars 38-31 in Mississippi high school football game

Panther Stadium - Petal High School quarterback Eli Causey picked up 165 passing yards and threw for 4 touchdowns to lead the Petal Panthers to a 38-31 win over the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Panthers also received key efforts from running back Chavez Walker who rushed 16 times for 144 yards and 1 touchdown and running back Kentrel Mickell who rushed 16 times for 73 yards.

Northwest Rankin's quarterback Wesley White threw for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns, running back Dylan Lewis picked up 173 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver De’shawn Dillon had 96 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Petal improve to 4-5 on the season while Northwest Rankin falls to 5-4. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Petal travels to Hattiesburg, MS to take on the Oak Grove Warriors on Thursday November 2. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
