Ocean Springs Greyhounds edge Northwest Rankin Cougars 27-24 in Mississippi high school football game

Cougar Field - Ocean Springs High School quarterback William Berglind had 232 passing yards and threw for 3 touchdowns to guide the Ocean Springs Greyhounds to a 27-24 win over the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Greyhounds also received vital efforts from running back William Smith who rushed 17 times for 65 yards and Bryhsen Smith who caught 6 passes for 126 yards and 1 touchdown.

Northwest Rankin's quarterback Wesley White threw for 146 yards, running back Dylan Lewis picked up 108 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns and Noah Williams had 43 receiving yards.

The win helps Ocean Springs improve to 2-1 on the season while Northwest Rankin falls to 2-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Ocean Springs will challenge the Natchez Bulldogs at home on Friday September 15. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
