Florence Eagles crushes Mendenhall Tigers 36-6 in MS high school football game

Eagle Stadium - Florence High School quarterback Kayne Ashley racked up 100 passing yards and threw for 1 touchdown to lead the Florence Eagles to a 36-6 win over the Mendenhall Tigers on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Eagles also received impressive efforts from running back Jayden Houseton who rushed 12 times for 48 yards and 2 touchdowns and wide receiver Morgan Weathersby who rushed 3 times for 48 yards.

Mendenhall's quarterback Damaris Davis threw for 82 yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver Braxton Benton had 75 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Florence improve to 2-2 on the season while Mendenhall falls to 1-2. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Florence will take on the Hancock Hawks at home on Friday October 4. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.

Mendenhall will face off against the Harrison Central Red Rebels at home on Friday September 27. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
