Florence Eagles edge Hancock Hawks 35-34 in MS high school football game

Eagle Stadium - Florence High School defensive back Bryan Davis picked up 112 rushing yards and scored 1 touchdown to help the Florence Eagles to a 35-34 win over the Hancock Hawks on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Eagles also received major efforts from quarterback Kayne Ashley who completed 5 passes for 71 yards and 1 touchdown and running back Jayden Houseton who rushed 12 times for 27 yards and 1 touchdown.

Hancock's quarterback Kaison Koenenn threw for 79 yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver Trenton Bookhardt had 43 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

The win helps Florence improve to 3-2 on the season while Hancock falls to 1-5. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Florence travels to Brookhaven, MS to challenge the Brookhaven Panthers on Friday October 11. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
