Hoggard Vikings defeat Ashley Screaming Eagle 35-27 in NC high school football game
Ashley - Hoggard High School quarterback Matthew Boring accumulated 315 passing yards and threw for 2 touchdowns to guide the Hoggard Vikings to a 35-27 win over the Ashley Screaming Eagle on Friday night in a high school football game.
The Vikings also received impressive efforts from running back David Hunter who rushed 8 times for 30 yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver Blake Edwards who caught 7 passes for 114 yards and 1 touchdown.
Ashley's JACKSON ELLER threw for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns, Jaelyn Brewington picked up 53 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and LANDON HARRELSON had 59 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.
The win helps Hoggard improve to 6-1 on the season while Ashley falls to 5-2. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
Hoggard will face off against the Topsail Pirates at home on Friday October 18. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
