Poteau Pirates edge McAlester Buffaloes 16-14 in OK high school football game
Costner Stadium - Poteau High School running back Spencer Perry picked up 83 rushing yards and scored 1 touchdown to guide the Poteau Pirates to a 16-14 win over the McAlester Buffaloes on Friday night in a high school football game.
The Pirates also received vital efforts from Sam Tecla who completed 6 passes for 69 yards and Rylan Waddell who rushed 8 times for 44 yards and 1 touchdown.
McAlester's Mazey Mazey threw for 51 yards, Jordan Clark picked up 73 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and Brandon Smith had 23 receiving yards.
The win helps Poteau improve to 1-1 on the season while McAlester falls to 1-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
Poteau will challenge the Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool Jaguars at home on Friday September 13. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
