Holmen Vikings crushes Sparta Spartans 42-7 in WI high school football game

Sparta - Holmen High School running back Jack Barth picked up 140 rushing yards and scored 2 touchdowns to help the Holmen Vikings to a 42-7 win over the Sparta Spartans on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Vikings also received helpful efforts from quarterback Alex Berget who completed 1 pass for 39 yards and 1 touchdown and running back AJ Alesch who rushed 4 times for 36 yards and 1 touchdown.

Sparta's linebacker Liam Zahrte threw for 51 yards, linebacker Camden McTaggart picked up 57 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and defensive back Grant Geier had 36 receiving yards.

The win helps Holmen improve to 5-1 on the season while Sparta falls to 3-3. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Holmen travels to La Crosse, WI to challenge the La Crosse Central Red Raiders on Friday October 4. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
