Holmen Vikings defeat Sauk Prairie Eagles 24-15 in WI high school football game

Holmen - Holmen High School quarterback Alex Berget picked up 87 rushing yards and scored 2 touchdowns to help the Holmen Vikings to a 24-15 win over the Sauk Prairie Eagles on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Vikings also received vital efforts from running back Jack Barth who rushed 13 times for 106 yards and 1 touchdown and fullback Ezra Markofski who rushed 8 times for 37 yards.

Sauk Prairie's quarterback Schultz Landon threw for 348 yards and 2 touchdowns, running back Maier Lawson picked up 59 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver Frosch Boden had 102 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Holmen improve to 1-1 on the season while Sauk Prairie falls to 1-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Holmen will face off against the Onalaska Hilltoppers at home on Friday September 6. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
