Mets third baseman David Wright will return from a seven game absence on Saturday night when New York hosts the Rangers, the team tweeted.
The 31-year-old seven-time All-Star had been out with a bruised right rotator cuff. He had targeted a Friday return but heavy rains prevented him from going through a rigorous workout. Eric Campbell will return to a reserve role after handing a majority of the time in Wright's absence.
The Mets are 38-48 -- fourth in the NL East -- heading into Saturday night's game.
