Report: 'Very good chance' Red Sox trade John Lackey with Jon Lester
There is a "very good chance" any Red Sox trade involving Jon Lester would also include fellow starter John Lackey, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
Lester was scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start because of what manager John Farrell called "all the uncertainty surrounding" him.
The Red Sox sit in last place in the American League East and are said to be shopping not just Lackey and Lester but lefthanded reliever Andrew Milleras well.
Lester and Lackey have each made 21 starts this season. Lester's ERA is 2.52 and Lackey's is 3.60.
According to various reports, a host of teams are said to be interested in Lester, including the division rival Blue Jays and Orioles, as well the Dodgers and Pirates, among others.
