NL All-Star roster released, featuring Joc Pederson, Kris Bryant
The pitchers and reserves for the National League All-Star team were announced Monday, headlined by rookies Joc Pederson and Kris Bryant.
The starters for both teams, as voted on by the fans, were announced Sunday night. The pitchers and reserves were chosen by a combination of player voting and selection by the manager of each team. Bruce Bochy of the San Francisco Giants will manage the NL and Ned Yost of the Kansas City Royals will manage the AL.
Each league's team has one spot left on its roster, which will be filled by a fan vote.
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen will replace Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins in the starting lineup as Stanton recovers from hand surgery. St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday is currently on the disabled list but may be activated before the game.
