The Los Angeles Angels have had a relatively quiet off-season regarding player acquisition. They lost their best player, added a new manager and traded away some key players. However, the team has yet to bring in some reinforcement this off-season.

Plenty of talented players remain on the market, including one they have been linked to for some time now. According to MLB insider and Boston Red Sox beat writer Chirs Cotillo, the Halos are among the teams interested in two-time silver slugger and one-time All-Star Teoscar Hernandez.

Cotillo says the Halos are among the teams heavily involved in Hernandez.

Hernandez may have had a down year in 2023, but he has a career OPS of .802 and 159 home runs. The 30-year-old, in 160 games in 2023, slashed .258/.305/.435 with a .741 OPS. Those numbers may not pop off the page, but the 160 games certainly do.

The Halos' premier batters have had trouble staying healthy throughout the course of the season, and your best ability is your availability.

At the moment, the Boston Red Sox seem to have the edge in the race, but the Halos need another bat and should do what it takes to land Hernandez.

We'll see if the Halos are willing to pay the price for Hernandez, and they will if they are serious about winning.
